Common questions

Is PlateRamp available yet?

Not yet. It is in development. This page is here ahead of release so it is ready when the app is.

Where does the starting weight come from?

From four things you tell it: what you used to lift and for how many reps, how many months you have been away, and how many years you trained before that. Settings → How the weight is worked out writes the whole method out in plain language, generated from the same numbers the app actually uses, so the screen cannot drift from the arithmetic.

The weight it gave me is too heavy, or too light.

Use your judgement and lift what you think is right. The app suggests; you decide what goes on the bar. If the whole plan is off, Settings → Start a new ramp asks the setup questions again, and your logged sets stay.

I missed two weeks. Has the plan moved on without me?

No. The ramp advances on weeks you actually trained, not on calendar weeks, so time away pauses it rather than leaving you behind.

Why does it round the weight down?

Because during a restart the error that costs something is going too heavy. If your plates cannot make the exact number, the app picks the closest weight at or below it rather than above.

My bar is not 45 lb, or I do not have those plates.

You set the bar weight and the plate pairs you have during setup, and the plates-per-side breakdown is worked out from those two things. Settings shows what you entered. To change either one, use Settings → Start a new ramp, which asks the setup questions again and keeps your logged sets.

Does it work without a signal?

Yes. There is no account and no server, so the whole app works offline.

I am coming back from an injury. Is this the right app?

PlateRamp is not the right tool for that on its own. It has no pain, injury or symptom input anywhere and is deliberately not a rehabilitation programme. Talk to a doctor or a physiotherapist about returning to training, and treat anything the app suggests as arithmetic on what you typed, not advice.

How do I delete my data?

Deleting the app removes everything, since it is all stored on the device and nowhere else. Settings → Start a new ramp clears the plan without clearing your logged sets. See the Privacy Policy.

How do I cancel a subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not inside PlateRamp: Settings → your name → Subscriptions on iOS. Purchases are not wired up in the current version, so there is nothing to cancel yet.
