Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of PlateRamp, an app published by Baker Ventures LLC (“we,” “us”). By downloading, installing or using PlateRamp, you agree to them. PlateRamp is in development and has not been released yet; these terms govern the app as built and may be updated before it ships.
What PlateRamp is
PlateRamp is for someone who trained with weights, stopped for a while, and is starting again. You tell it what you used to lift, how long you have been away and what plates you have. It works out a weight to start at, shows the reason next to every number, and steps you back toward your old working weights over a set number of weeks. It counts weeks you actually trained rather than weeks on the calendar, so time away pauses the plan instead of leaving you behind. It also logs your sets and works out the plates per side for your bar.
PlateRamp is not medical advice, physical therapy, or a coaching service, and it is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, assess or rehabilitate anything. It does not know your health, has not seen you lift, and cannot tell whether a weight is right for you today. Every number it shows is arithmetic on figures you typed in. If you have an injury or a health condition, or you are unsure whether to start training again, speak to a doctor first.
You decide what goes on the bar
The app suggests; you choose. Lifting weights carries a risk of injury that no app removes, and you are responsible for your own technique, your own equipment, your own warm-up and your own decision to lift any particular weight on any particular day. If a suggested weight feels wrong, do not lift it. The app shows how every number was produced, on its own screen, so you can judge it rather than trust it.
The numbers are estimates
Starting weights, week-by-week increases and plate rounding are estimates produced from what you entered, using a stated method that is written out in full in the app. They are not predictions of what you can lift, and we do not guarantee any outcome from following them. Plate rounding is always downward, which means the app will under-load rather than over-load when your plates cannot make an exact number.
Your data
Everything the app stores stays on your device. There is no account and no server. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you type in, and for keeping your own device backed up if those records matter to you. See the Privacy Policy for the complete list of what is stored.
Subscriptions
PlateRamp is designed to sell an annual subscription of $39.99 with the first 7 days free, and a monthly subscription of $8.99. Prices are subject to change before release and may differ by country and by what Apple charges in your currency. Purchases are not wired up in the current version, so nothing can be charged.
Once they are enabled, subscriptions are billed and managed through the Apple App Store, not by us. They renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends, and a free trial that is not cancelled before it ends converts to a paid subscription. You can see, change or cancel a subscription in your App Store account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions on iOS). We do not process payments and cannot issue refunds; refunds are Apple's to grant under its own policy.
Acceptable use
You agree not to reverse-engineer the app, interfere with its normal operation, or use it in a way that breaks applicable law. The lift descriptions, illustrations, icon and method text in PlateRamp are written and drawn by Baker Ventures LLC and remain ours; you get a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app, not a licence to republish its content.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
PlateRamp is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that any suggested weight is appropriate for you. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Baker Ventures LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including any injury or aggravation of an existing condition. You train at your own risk. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms; continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated version. We may suspend access for misuse of the app or breach of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
